It’s our favourite time of year when the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake – check out our lineup of horror themed events happening in the back half of October!

ATTACK OF THE PINBALL NIGHTMARE

The circuits inside the pinballs of the Netherworld have been doing strange and curious things, for they’ve been overtaken by a galactic terror for ATTACK OF THE PINBALL NIGHTMARE!
You must brave this terrifying day of pinball alone, taking on a series of cosmically unique pinball challenges that will test you to your core.
Over 8 sci fi and horror themed machines, you’ll confront 8 different creative and weird challenges that will inhibit your senses, your co-ordination and your soul. The nature of these challenges will be revealed on arrival.
Each $20 ticket comes with your first drink, a Metamutant pin designed by Emetic Art and the opportunity to stave off the alien attack. It happens from 10am on Saturday the 15th of October and tickets can be grabbed via events.humanitix.com/nwpinballnightmare. Ticket holders can arrive anytime before 3pm to confront the challenges and prizes will be awarded for the top 3 for the day!

BINGO OF THE DAMNED

Your number may be up, for this is BINGO OF THE DAMNED! Our first ever Bingo afternoon happens on Sunday the 16th of October from 3pm. 75-ball is the game with plenty of cursed prizes to be won alongside trash tray raffles and Sunday afternoon deals with the bar denizens. To get involved, just rock up and check in with your demonic host – it’s free to join in. The stakes are low for all you’ll need to play is to put your soul on the line…

MONSTER MENAGERIE VI – NEO LAGER

Join us on Saturday the 22nd of October for Monster Menagerie IV, our yearly celebration of monstrously good Australian breweries and killer art. This year the denizens of the Netherworld have travelled deep into the future, wandering the dystopian streets of Neo-Lager where brewery conglomerate behemoths have a tight stranglehold of the city’s beer. We’ve sliced our way into the hop-frame and destroyed the firewalls, letting loose a menagerie of cyber lager collaborations previously held hostage.
Take a tour of the new beers that have just hit the streets of Neo-Lager:
Aether Brewing Yuzu Rice Lager – 5%
Black Flag Brewing Orange Miso Lager – 4.8%
Happy Valley x Brewtal Brewers Black India Pale Lager – 6.2%
Common People Brewing Co Cherry Blossom Sour Lager – 4.5%
Felons Brewing Co The Gospel Rye Whiskey Barrel Aged Lager – 7.5%
Moffat Beach Brewing Co Shiitake Mushroom Dark Lager – 5%
Kaiju Beer Kumquat Yuzu Pilsner – 5.1%
Valley Hops Brewing Wild Rice Lager – 5.3%
The Hellmouth Diner will be putting together specials for the day that you’d find on the cybercity sidewalks, provided you’ve got your bio-credit installed to pay for them.
All artwork for this year’s Monster Menagerie is by artist and ghost in the machine Phoebe Paradise, who you can check out via www.phoebeparadise.com and IG: @phoebe.paradise. To celebrate, you’ll also be able to purchase prints of the artwork by Phoebe Paradise on the day!
It happens from midday on Saturday the 22nd of October. Each ticket comes with 150ml of all 8 beers, an enamel pin by Nelson Gibbins and 5 games tokens. Grab advance tours of the menagerie by grabbing a ticket online and you’ll get a CHEEKY ADDITIONAL 5 GAMES TOKENS. Grab ’em via events.humanitix.com/monstermenagerie22

TWO BIT MOVIE CLUB – ALL MONSTERS ATTACK

Join us for a very special edition of the Two Bit Movie Club as we explore the horrors of time and space with ALL MONSTERS ATTACKS, a retrospective clip show of the best alien and monster scenes from classic sci fi movies of the 40s, 50s and 60s. We’ll be watching a litany of dodgy special effects, flying saucers, people in rubber suits, blood curdling screams, laser zaps and more in glorious black and white and possibly some colour! You’ll get to see all the gnarly parts of the movies they spent the entire budget on and none of the useless in between bits with ‘talking’ and ‘plot points’.
It happens on Monday the 24th of October at 7pm sharp as a closed door event in the Netherworld. The kitchen will be closed but BYO food more than welcome. Each ticket comes with a drink and can be grabbed via events.humanitix.com/twobitscifi

Bat Conservation and Rescue QLD is an entirely volunteer-run organisation dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of microbats and flying foxes in the greater Brisbane area. BCRQ responds to hundreds of calls for injured and orphaned bats over the spring and summer, and funds raised will go directly towards bats coming into care. Remember – have a spooky Halloween but never touch a bat (no touch, no risk!). Contact us at www.bats.org.au or facebook.com/batconQLD
